Who Are We?
We are a team of Registered Dietitians in Manitoba who work collaboratively with educators, teachers, and community stakeholders to create engaging, high-impact nutrition resources that foster positive attitudes and behaviors around food and eating. Our resources support learning from early childhood (ELCC) to grade 12, along with background information for adults. By applying theory to practice, we ensure you feel confident using Nüton materials with children and youth. Thanks to your local dairy farmers and their commitment to nutrition education, these resources are available at no cost to educators.
All our resources introduce concepts at the right time and offer developmentally appropriate activities that allow for knowledge development and skill building. We are intentional about framing nutrition education in ways that provide children and youth with opportunities to foster a relationship with food and their body that serves them throughout their life.
The Nüton team acknowledges that our headquarters are located on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg (Ojibwe), Anishininiwak (Cree), Dakhóta Oyáte (Dakota), Dene, and Anishininiwag (Oji-Cree), as well as the Homeland of the Red River Métis. Our services extend across the territories of Treaty 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
We are committed to ensuring our programs, resources and services are culturally safe by collaborating with Indigenous consultants, Knowledge Keepers, and/or community members in all phases of resource and program development. We further acknowledge that there are many ways of knowing and approaches that shape our relationship with food.
