About the Speaker:

charlene sacher head shot

Charlene Sacher is a grade 1-2 multiage teacher in Louis Riel School division who has been teaching for 18 years. She has taught primarily in Winnipeg but spent a few years teaching in Mississauga in Ontario. Within the 18 years of teaching, she has taught kindergarten to age 21 (except for grade 7), and has experience in resource and student services.

She has a passion for inclusive education, and she has a post-baccalaureate from the University of Manitoba in this area. She loves to integrate cooking and gardening into her classroom. She loves hands-on learning and having students being able to see their learning and progress. She is an active member of the Manitoba Association of Multiage Educators where she sits on various committees.

She currently is the Equity and Social Justice Chair for her local association, LRTA. Here she helps support the members in their endeavors to create a more socially just and inclusive classroom and helps with supporting the community. Charlene is currently enrolled at Cape Breton University where she is working towards her Master’s degree in Education with the thesis topic of “Fat Stigmatization in Education”.

Charlene is also married and has three children. She loves to spend time with them travelling around our country whenever they can.
